Message and Mission

The decriminalization of marijuana is necessary to help cure many ills of society as we know it today.

1. This policy is targeted for marijuana used for personal benefit. It is not applicable for persons who traffic in large amounts and pay no taxes.

2. In 1972 President Nixon's commission recommended the decriminalization of marijuana. In 1977 President Jimmy Carter told Congress that the laws against marijuana should be no greater than the use of the drug itself.

3. National Commission on Marijuana and Drug Abuse

4. Since 1973, 13 states have decriminalized marijuana.

5. More than 30% of the US population lives in states that have decriminalized marijuana laws.

6. Enforcing marijuana criminal laws costs more than $10,000,000,000 nationally every year. Over 830,000 people are arrested annually, MORE THAN THE COMBINED TOTAL OF ARRESTS FOR MURDER, RAPE , VIOLENT ASSAULT, DRUNK DRIVING, AND ROBBERY.

7. Alcohol and tobacco is more addictive and harmful than marijuana.

8. No concentration is made to abolish these dangerous drugs.

9. Marijuana smoking is no excuse for improper behavior.

10. Marijuana smoking should be available only to adults, with citations to younger persons abusing this law.

11. Studies in Europe show that legalization of marijuana does not increase use by minors, and it does not lead to use of other drugs.
